This week was super spiritually uplifting. We had our last multi-zone
conference with President Ulrich and it was so powerful. He is one of
the most powerful, influential speakers I have ever heard. He and
Sister Ulrich leave this Friday. It will be sad! But we will be doing
service at the mission home today with them which should be fun.
Work wise there hasn't been too much happening. We have a friend
Bernard from Zimbabwe who me and Elder Hargiss found but lost contact
with and then the sisters met him and so we taught him together. He
committed to a baptismal date but then didn't keep his next
appointment and didn't come to church. We saw him today though at the
store when we went to get groceries and will see him Wednesday! We saw
Anthony and had a super good lesson and he enjoyed it. But
unfortunately he is unpredictable and we haven't been able to see him
properly again. We haven't been able to see Michael and Kingsley.
Some highlights from this week:
Had the privilege to teach at a high school (15-16 year olds
specifically) about the early history of the church and the movement
west. It was neat and nice to solve some misconceptions that people
have about the church. I was privileged enough to confirm the sisters
investigator Shalu on Sunday and it was really special. She doesn't
speak English super well but the Spirit speaks all languages and she
really felt it and was emotional. Funny thing, for her baptism the
font wasn't working so we had to get buckets of water and fill up the
font that way. It was pretty crazy. We also had a BBQ at a members
home and they are from Africa so we had real, proper meat and it was
absolutely amazing.
Funny quote of the week:
Me: What would you say is your purpose in life?
Girl we tracted into: "Just to look after hamsters and kids, and
worship Harry Potter." (I love it so much when British people say
Harry Potter).
Hope you all have an amazing week!

June 19, 2017 Week of Firsts
This past week was a week full of firsts. My first driving lesson,
first district Meeting and first baptismal interview. All went well!
The work has been a bit slow but things will pick up. We saw Michael
and we were able to explain more about the Book of Mormon. Kingsley
his 8 year old son has been reading it and loving it. They are
interested but the mom is a stumbling block, she loves her Christian
church that she was brought up in. Lots of potential there though! We
weren't able to see Anthony but will see him tomorrow.
Other than that not too much happened, except that it has been super
super hot. It is so humid here haha. Have been finding a lot but
haven't been able to find promising people that are willing to
progress. We are praying a lot specifically to find someone to teach
consistently towards baptism. We will find them!
My first driving lesson was fun. It didn't take too long to adjust to
being on the other side of the road and car but the roundabouts here
are so weird and take some getting used to. But I enjoyed it. I was
able to interview the sisters investigator from India and it was a
spiritually uplifting experience, she is so excited for her baptism.
I hope you all are doing well and I invite you to watch: "Be of Good
Cheer" by President Monson in the April 2009 Conference.

June 12, 2017 #Blessed
This past week was good! We found some great people and we started
working with a great father and son, Michael and Kingsly (8 years old)
from Nigeria. We found them a couple weeks ago and finally got to see
them and they loved the chapel tour and understood the Restoration
well. They committed to be baptised but still want to talk things
over. They are so great!
We found our friend Anthony who seemed really golden at first, he
really liked what we said and felt the Spirit right away. Our return
appointments didn't really work out but he randomly called us and so
we taught him at the church but he was super drunk haha. He wants to
change his life and so we hope to help him with that, he just has some
interesting ideas and got into some anti-Mormon stuff.. haha. We had
to drop Adel because he is too old and is not very accountable,
especially with his health issues.
My birthday was great. I was spoiled by our district members and the
zone leaders. We were on exchange and the zone leaders bought me
Haagen Dazs ice cream which was amazing. One set of sisters in Man
South decorated our door and the other sisters gave me a Justin Bieber
cake, eggs with Justin Bieber stickers and quotes on them and a Justin
Bieber card haha. The assistants got me really posh (word here for
nice/ rich) chocolate. I am very blessed! Also, some exciting news: I
passed the theory Test and will be taking my first driving lesson
today! Pray for me 😬.
So an update on Warrington and past companions:
Mohammed is doing super well. He is blessing the Sacrament every week
and is actually baptising an investigator this upcoming Saturday! The
Dunn's will be getting sealed as a family at the end of this month!
Chris is good as well. No one has been able to contact Stephen which
is unfortunate. Also, Kate is supposedly on track towards baptism!
Elder Tate is in his last transfer and is in Chorley. Elder Fan is
back in the YSA ward after being in Liverpool for a while. Elder
Audrlicky is now a senior companion in Whitefield.
Hope you all have a great week!

June 5, 2017 Life Is Exciting
This past week was good! I have really enjoyed getting to know Elder
Quinton and we already are best friends and he is such a great
companion. He is an amazing missionary. We are getting along so well
and we play basketball pretty much every morning (I finally have a
companion that loves basketball as much as me). We were able to have a
miracle with our friend Adel and have some other people with great
potential. The work is somewhat slow moving but it will pick up.
We were able to see our friend Adel who at first had turned us away at
the door but then he randomly let us in the 3rd time. At first he was
just boasting about his church and so we tried to get out of there but
he asked us to tell him what we have to say. So we started going
through the Restoration and when we talked about the apostasy
something clicked in his mind and he was intrigued. Then we told about
Joseph Smith and then during the first vision he started crying
because the Spirit touched his heart. And then when we spoke about the
Priesthood being restored and there being an unbroken chain, he
completely understood it and he knew it was true. He committed to be
baptised and was excited about it. He is a really fun, loving person
and we connected well with him. The only concern is that he is older
and his health isn't very good but he believes in it and he knows
Heavenly Father is speaking to him about this. Amazing miracle!
We haven't been able to contact Keith and Janine which is unfortunate
but they will come around! We are trying to work with three African
families who are such nice people but their schedules can be hard to
work with being either taxi drivers or working nights.
I love being a missionary so much. Life truly is exciting and being a
district leader is so fun. Thank you all for the birthday wishes. Hope
you have an amazing week!
