August 28, 2017 I Love the Longworth Family

This past week was really great! We were able to teach the whole
Longworth family and it was amazing! We did a restoration lesson with
plastic cups with the parents and the 4 girls who range from ages 9-11
(twins in between) and it went really well. The girls just loved it.
They were in a semi circle sitting right in front of us and their eyes
were just so big the whole time. The father Robert expressed that he
is so glad his whole family could be taught instead of just him. I
love their family!

We have seen Eleanor's best friend Siobhan and Abby a couple times
this week. They are doing pretty well. Siobhan also came to church.
Abby was excited to come to church but then some emergency came up so
she wasn't able to. She actually invited one of her friends to one of
our teaching appointments.

Elder Tuipulotu is amazing. He gives the best Polynesian hugs, he
visited Jerusalem with his family for Easter one year and we have a
lot of friends in common.

I hope y'all know how much I love this Gospel and the opportunity to
share it with others!

August 22, 2017 Eleanor Was Baptized

This past week was amazing! We had Eleanor's baptism which she invited
her best friend to! The baptism was super great. Eleanor described it
as a "super intense happy bath." Abby came to church on Sunday which
was so great. She felt so much peace and just really felt the Spirit.
She is excited to come again next week. She has been taught all the
commandments now and recognises the difference the Gospel has made in
her life.

We were able to teach our British Pageant golden family the Longworths
and it was great. Unfortunately it was only the father there but he
said that he really felt the Spirit and so they went to the Pageant
twice and he said it was not normal for him to invite religious people
to his home but he couldn't deny the feeling that he felt! He said he
would be baptised when he really felt that it was right. So much
potential there with the wife and 4 children of baptism age as well!
We were able to see a couple of our part member families this week and
there is so much potential there. Lots of great things happening in
Chorley.

Speaking of Chorley, it's transfer week and I will be staying in
Chorley and have my new companion Elder Tuipulotu. He is from Fort
Mill, South Carolina and his father/ his name comes from Tonga.
(@Elder Wilson) His father played football and his mom played
basketball at BYU! He has a full ride scholarship to play Tight End at
BYU. So nice to have an American and BYU companion again 😉.

Hope y'all have a great week!

August 14, 2017 I Love The British Pageant

It was another full, busy, quick week with the British Pageant. What a
great event it was. We really enjoyed and are very happy to have
handed out 650 copies of the Book of Mormon over the two weeks! Also,
it was crazy I saw my old next door neighbour from Provo at the
Pageant! We have a new family that we are now going to be teaching
because of the Pageant and hope to contact more referrals from it and
to be able to work with members to see the friends that they invited.

Eleanor is doing well. She passed her baptismal interview and loves
the Gospel. Abby is great. We were able to see her this week and
taught her about obedience, following the prophet and the word of
wisdom. She accepted it and continues to have great questions and also
answers to the questions we ask her.

We had a wonderful miracle this week with our friend Marcella. We had
exchanges and I went with Elder Humphries my MTC companion which was
really fun, it was great to catch up.  When planning in the morning I
had felt impressed to go to a certain street. We knocked on this one
door and a nice lady came out and it was obvious that something was
wrong. She began to cry after only a minute and actually began telling
us her problems. She expressed that she felt there were evil spirits
in her home and that she was praying for someone to come help her and
we showed up very soon after. We were able to help her and she really
wanted us to come back. We went back the next day and taught the
Restoration and gave her a blessing. She felt the Spirit so powerfully
and felt a weight come off her shoulders. She asked for some time to
ponder about things, which is fine, we hope to see her soon.

I love the Gospel more than words can describe.

P.S. We will be emailing on Tuesday next week. I'm feeling really good
about everything in my life. Thank you everyone for your support!

August 7, 2017 Craziness (British Pageant!)

This past week was probably one of the most eventful weeks of my life.
We were able to have lots of success with the British Pageant. We gave
out probably 230 copies of the Book of Mormon. It was amazing and
brought us lots of joy. Eleanor was able to come to the pageant and to
the missionary fireside (where recent converts share their conversion
stories) last night and she really enjoyed both. She is excited for
her baptism on the 19th and has her interview tomorrow. Abby is doing
well. She really enjoyed the Pageant and felt the Spirit.

So more on the Pageant. There were performances in the evening
Tuesday-Saturday and an afternoon performance on Saturday. Before each
performance there is a fair and we have a booth set up there and then
after the performances we set up our booth just outside the exit and
we hand out copies of the Book of Mormon and get people's information.
It has been amazing the responses we have gotten.

So the story for the Pageant is about the first missionaries coming
over to the British isles. It goes through the story of Heber C.
Kimball and then when all of the apostles come over and talks about
the Cannon, Benbow and Ashton families and their conversion stories.
It has so many good doctrinal nuggets and the Spirit is so strong. In
the finale it talks about how the work continues on and then we emerge
from our seats and walk on stage singing called to serve. It is so
powerful and it's amazing to see the emotion in the audiences faces.

Elder M. Russell Ballard came to our mission on Thursday and we had an
amazing meeting with him. He is super funny and said exactly what I
needed to hear. He was also at the pageant and I really enjoyed
getting to sing to him 😉.

I am so unbelievably grateful for this Gospel and my testimony just
continues to grow every day. Joseph Smith truly is a prophet of God
and he really did restore Christ's church to the earth. I am so
privileged to serve where the early apostles served and to walk on
this holy ground. Hope you all have a great week!
